併系群

圖中分支頂端由左至右分別為魚類、兩棲類、哺乳類、爬行類（龜類、鱗龍類、鱷類）與鳥類，藍色部分是爬行類，該類群以較晚近的研究結果而言，因不包含其共同祖先的所有後代，因此是一個併系群。

並系群（英語：Paraphyletic group）也譯作側系群、旁系群或併系群，是指一個生物類群，此類群中的成員皆擁有「最近共同祖先」，但該群中並不包含此最近共同祖先之所有後代。一個類群是否為並系群，需依不同的分類標準，如不同的DNA序列的比對結果而決定。
